Captivate! Innovate! Celebrate!
The next AIA VICTORIAN DIVISION LUNCHEON MEETING is
on Tuesday, 6th June 2017at The Elgin Inn, 75 Burwood Road, Hawthorn
The event will start at midday sharp.
Get well informed and stimulated by our Guest Speaker:
Dr. Turlough Guerin, MAIA
whose topic is:Should Large-Scale Power Stations Be Built on Agricultural Land?
The renewable energy sector in Australia currently has $5.1 billion worth of
investments, with some 20 projects and 3000 jobs at stake. It is regarded as a unique opportunity for people in regional areas.
To what extent is the concern for energy generation versus food production justified? Should large-scale solar power stations be built on agricultural land?
The speaker will use a case study from the Central West of NSW to explore the issues.
And rest assured that his attentive Luncheon Audience will raise some curly points on how Wind, Wave and the urgent need for Base Load Power can be reconciled with all of this!
