Public Seminar “Myths and Truths about Soil Carbon Sequestration” - Tuesday 16 August 2011, Melbourne

More than 115 participants including AIAST members, researchers, industry, farmers and university students attended the evening to discover the Myths and Truths about Soil Carbon Sequestration” in Melbourne on the 16 August 2011. Four experts outlined the process of carbon capture and storage in soils, addressed key questions associated with soil carbon and participated in a lively panel discussion addressing questions from the audience.
The evening ended with an interactive networking session.
Keynote addresses included Associate Professor Richard Eckard of the Primary Industries Climate Challenges Centre, Dr Michael Crawford, Victorian Department of Primary Industries, Dr Chris Weston, University of Melbourne and Dr Evelyn Krull, CSIRO.
