Career Development (mentoring programs)

Have you ever wondered what a career on the land would be like?

It’s a question pondered by thousands of students each year as they weigh up a life after the final school bell, but other than getting placement on a property to find out first-hand, it’s often difficult to discover what the Ag industry has to offer.

That changed in September last year.
In 2007, the Australian Agricultural College Corporation (AACC) saw the need to provide students a “taste” of what they might expect in a rural career and the response to the innovative concept has been overwhelming.
The success of the TASTE (The Agricultural Skills & Technology Experience) Program’s inaugural year made it an easy decision to bring the concept back for the 2008 September school holidays and AACC College Director Mr Malcolm McKay said there had already been a “tremendous amount of early interest” in the program which has been rolled out to all five AACC campuses.
